Should I have fewer limousines than I need or more?

Published / by 121carhirecyprus@gmail.com

limousine-fleetSo in today’s article, I will touch briefly on a question that has been bugging me for the last few years. Which is: would I rather have more limousines and risk having those empty and not used on a daily basis? Or should I have fewer vehicles which would minimize insurance expenses, paying to service them and all that? Which is better?

Many times, that’s the same question we ask our selves in our daily lives, which of course has a different format. Many times we wonder: should I work harder to have more things, even though I need fewer things for me? Should I risk going overboard with success and not know what to do with it? I know, these may seem as stupid questions and concerns one may have. But the lazy ones, will always have this fear and question in their minds.

So again my question is to you: Would you rather have fewer vehicles that are always booked, or more vehicles that may even stay in the driveway a few times in a week?

What should a great limousine company look like?

Published / by 121carhirecyprus@gmail.com

I know you are probably wondering why we are making this third post for today. Weren’t two posts good enough? Well, note quite. I think we have mentioned many important things so far in regards to our industry, customer service and the way operators should be working their luxury limousines. What we haven’t talked about as a whole though, is the qualities that make a luxury transportation company better than another. What are the key components to make my limousine services better than all of my competitor’s? Is it just pure luck or can I do something on my end to ensure a greater customer experience and business relationship?luxury-limousine

These are all very common questions. I believe that we are all very interested in improving our selves and the way our businesses operate. No one wants to stay in one place forever and do the same thing over and over again. We all want to evolve and that is a very beautiful thing. Whenever I talk about these topics with my colleagues and at big limousine events, my mind always goes back to the greatest operator I have met so far, based in South Carolina. Limo services Columbia is by far the company I look up to and admire. So, there are certain things we all can do both as employers and employees to make our business more profitable and more efficient in the long run:

Guys, take advantage of the holidays!

Published / by 121carhirecyprus@gmail.com

In this post, we will talk about monetizing your limo business in all aspects. That’s right! Here you are going to get some financial management information to run your business better and more efficiently. We are not business people or even have any corporate experience. But we understand money and the importance of keeping your business profitable for many more years to come. christmas-holidays-for-the-limousine-industry

So what we will talk about in this second post for today (for the first one, go here) is taking advantage of existing holidays and common activities that people tend to do in these happy months. Unless you have been living under a rock for the last 30 years, you probably know that we are getting closer and closer to the Christmas holidays and the New Year. People during these days are on “spending mode.” My goodness if my brain ever sat down to realize that we are theoretically living in a financially unstable market. I wont get into politics and boring finance conversations, but we can all understand that people like spending money during this holiday season. It is perhaps the most commercialized holiday on the calendar. I know you are probably scratching your head wondering: how exactly do I monetize this and get people to rent limousines? Well, it’s actually pretty easy. All you need to do is put a Christmas theme to it. For example, here are some titles for limo services: “Christmas lights tours, decoration shopping, visit your family package etc.”

Taking care of your employees – why it’s important.

Published / by 121carhirecyprus@gmail.com

woman-booking-limousine-gigsChristmas holidays are approaching, and no matter where you live in the world, there is some kind of holiday approaching. If it’s not for the Christmas holiday specifically, it is for the New Year that will be arriving soon. Last 11 months you and your employees in your limo business have been working hard (especially during high season) to make the most out of all work conducted, trying to maximize profits and customer care. Although you pay your employees at the end of every week, there is always a little extra something you feel that you should be giving them. It isn’t necessarily in the form of money. Simply the gratitude feeling I believe is something all employers have the need to satisfy.

Avoiding the tragic limousine accidents…

Published / by 121carhirecyprus@gmail.com

In this post, we will be talking about safety. My gosh has this topic been discussed so many times by many people before. But yet…we aren’t seeing safety in our roads. The sad part of this all is that we don’t see safety among professional drivers – people who drive vehicles for a living (like you and me.) Can you imagine the damaging results of being irresponsible in this job? Some people think medical doctors hold the hardest and most important – for life safety – job. And even though that may be true, if you can avoid sending someone to the hospital in the first place, I believe everyone would be much happier. In Medicine it is said that the whole structure of healthcare is focused on avoiding incidents, rather just treating them. So please do your job right and avoid filling up emergency rooms with people that simply wanted to go out on a luxury vehicle.

Deal Demanding Customers With Respect

Published / by 121carhirecyprus@gmail.com

demanding-limousine-customerWe all have had that instance and situation where, no matter what we do as agency owners or limo drivers, we always get a frown from our customer. Reasons can vary: driver wasn’t extremely polite and helpful, interiors of vehicle were not spotless and had a some kind of stain that only exists when they are sitting in the back seat, the temperature wasn’t good enough, it’s a sunny day and so many other complaints.

Yes, many times it is indeed the limousine company’s fault for such unhappy situations. When you are for instance preparing a vehicle for a wedding, any dirty stain will remain on the white dress of the bride. So in such situations, it is okay for people to get ridiculously nervous about everything. In our long existence as a company and having seen a lot, my brain just can’t fully understand how was it possible that so many times there were dirty seats. I mean, have the decency to prepare the vehicle at least in the greatest part of it. It’s not good for business, if people always need to let you know how bad looking your vehicle is. Financial Crisis? What Crisis?

Published / by 121carhirecyprus@gmail.com

We are very excited to be making this second post on this platform. Main reason of excitement is because (you guessed it) it’s our second post. However we do want to touch on a topic of discussion that has been talked about over and over again. We would like to make a reference in regards to the way the limousine and transportation industry has been affected by the devastating events of 2008. What has happened with our industry? Has money slowed down and did people become more careful with their money?

As we all understand by now, people who like using limos or luxury vehicles, are usually wealthier people or people that like to show off in front of relatives and friends. Luxury vehicles, private chauffeurs and all that good stuff, have always been a symbol of power, wealth and independence. So what that really means is, that the persons that want to exceed all others and appear superior, will always look to use a luxury vehicle in their vacation our touristic ventures. There is always enough money to scrap up together, to pay for a vacation. Think about it: Did people stop taking vacations after the financial crisis took place? Well maybe some, but people simply switched to more economic solutions for their destinations. You see, people are addicted to travelling, having a good time and taking vacations. For some reason (maybe Hollywood is to be blame) no matter what event takes place, there will always be enough money, time and will to go on a vacation. I mean, who doesn’t like to vacation on a beautiful island such as Cyprus, right?
